Males Are CoParents Too is a Canadian advocacy initiative dedicated to promoting meaningful involvement of both parents in a child’s life whenever it is safe and appropriate through education, research-informed discussion, and constructive dialogue.

Why This Matters
Families and society have changed significantly over generations.
Traditional expectations once placed mothers primarily in caregiving roles and fathers primarily in provider roles. While these patterns reflected earlier social structures, families today are increasingly diverse and parenting responsibilities continue to evolve.
Many fathers want to be actively involved caregivers — not only financial providers. Many mothers also want partnership, support, and shared responsibility. Children benefit when parents who are capable, committed, and safe are encouraged to maintain meaningful involvement in their lives.
The focus should not be based on assumptions about gender roles.
